Hi, I'm Jason Umbarger. I've regularly been making art for pleasure since about 2021. For me, my art making began when looking at modern abstract pieces from artists like Mondrian or Rothko and thinking, "I could do that." My inner voice one day replied, "You should." Thus began an adventure of regularly visiting art museums and looking at books to view art, pouring and smearing haphazardly chosen acrylics to play with color, taking short night classes and visiting gallery openings to learn and spend time with artists, and developing an art practice into a personally rewarding experience. I came to believe a piece of art is not complete until it is shared with others, which is the purpose of this website. Enjoy!
